Jesus, during his earthly ministry, took on the role of the Son, fully submitting to the Father’s will. His instruction to worship God follows his role in the economy of salvation, which involves the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in distinct roles but unified in essence

While Jesus is divine, in his incarnation, he also assumed a fully human nature, experiencing life as humans do. His response to Satan is an affirmation of his human experience and obedience to God the Father.

In Christian worship it's the appropriate response to God's nature and sovereignty. By directing worship to God the Father, Jesus models the proper relationship that humanity is to have with God.

With Jesus directive to worship God highlights the understanding of his role within the Trinity and the importance of worshiping God in the context of Jesus mission on Earth. It reflects both his human experience and the theological affirmation of monotheismn of Judeo-Christian beliefs.
