i really only use the darvas (still testing some others)as confirmation with the strategy i use,as backtesting has proven it quite reliable for confirmation.

trial and error has proved some indicators against
others but ultimately i use a volume based strategy (all longs) to give me a 'heads up' then wait for some confirmation..

its hard one nail as u are quite right there are many pitfalls, and u can over complex the issue but i find experimenting and testing sorts out what works and what doesnt..my aim is just to semi automate a trading system
trying to take some of the bad decision making out of the equation..
