Yep there is also some wierd stuff happening on the US futures and many markets (e.g. commodities) which appear not to have huge correlation with stocks futures. The latest from Rick Santelli at the CME says that the thinking now is that some major trader has changed their computerised trading algorithm - perhaps one of the global mega-banks or sovereign funds. China appears to possibly have something to do with it.
