He's effectively been placed in the role by a company who has a significant investment in the future of TPT. Are Argonaut intending to hold TPT indefinitely? Or are they hoping to derive some short term value before punting it? Why didn't the TPT announcement mention that his previous employer was Argonaut?

I also don't think that experience as an analyst provides the type of management and negotiation experience that you want in a person running a junior resources company, which suggests to me that a lot of the day to day management will be looked after by the Board. This approach might work, but for people hoping to hold this through to production (if that happens), I'd suggest maintaining a healthy level of scepticism.
