I found this quote online, and I think it's right. Why would you use any other way of calling when you can save on battery life, data costs and call costs? Will mobile phones head towards data plans only when ZIP is released as it works over 2g networks? This is a serious threat to other telcos who make money out of calls and plans including data and calls. The key is the low bandwidth requirement! Why would I want to sign up to a plan that includes calls at all? anyone?
Longer battery life would surely interest the smart phone makers. Takeover possibility?
