This country that so entranced the "old world" at and after the close of ww2, is a travesty of those values that we thought we could hold dear. The hollywood version of america is closer to the truth.....or seen to be, which is the same thing. Did America fail in their aspirations because of Russia? Or was it all a sham in the first place? The only thing that is certain is that the America that was then...is only a fond memory! The America that is now....is what the world needs to deal with. Evolving history, I suppose.
