I haven't posted on Lyc since buying in many many years ago and selling out.
However, I always keep an eye on LYC threads because you can't help but notice them when you log on. They are always the most discussed.
I have always tried not to post on a thread unless i have skin in the game. I will rarely post if i don't hold the stock. However, if i feel as though I can learn something about the stock or maybe i can pass on advice, then i will post. If i make a decision to potentially purchase a stock i like to ask questions. People like Jantimot are just as invaluable to investors than the typical rampers. I know people don't like to listen to an opposing view, but if it is written without inflaming, then it can be valuable information.
I have read people getting criticised on here for posting about trends and catching a falling knife. I didn't add to the discussion when it was brought up because wiser men already made their point.
But, I know that is one lesson i learnt from people posting on my thread a long time ago, even though it wasn't what i wanted to hear at the time.
As long as it is constructive and not flaming, then it has its place. I've been spying on LYC for years and I am sure many other do too and choose to add their bit where the deem appropriate.
I know the "Fat Bloaters" of hotcopper don't help with the "i told you so posts".
