    I've never really given it much thought, but it actually makes a lot of sense. The pay-out to GTG would be huge and if Applera could take them over, it would solve a lot of their hassles - And really, GTG is priced quite cheaply at the moment. Probably a bid of around 70c per share would be enough. Food for thought.
