The guts of this article is that five decades of meritocracy in the west is at risk by the left creating a new social order based on virtue, rather than ability … a future virtuocracy if you like. Aggressive regimes like China, Russia and Iran gain if the West gives in to suicidal virtuocracy by allowing history to be rewritten without recognising, celebrating and valuing the massive gains in equality ushered in during decades of meritocracy.
FMG has a global role to play in preventing the rise of virtuocracy over meritocracy.
As I see it, if the West can genuinely transition to limitless, affordable green energy, with a significant hydrogen economy it will be a triumph for vision, innovation and commitment, and can legitimately put a lid on the virtuocracy box and create clean air and purpose for the West in global outlook.
