Perhpas it is stating the obvious. Bu there are now moves afoot within the organization to assess the quantum of potential damages and costs relating to a series of unrelated litigation with various parties that is not too insignificant for the bank to have made it an issue with ther principal legal advosirs.
There are moves afoot to settle some of these which is understood to run into hundreds of millions of dollars.
Currently if all litigation and potential damages claims are realised against the bank the figure exceeds the $2.5 billion mark.
Who's been running this festering sore all this while??
