Alas the leaching of cyanide into river systems is a crime perpetrated worldwide by unscrupulous small time gold operators. Thankfully Emr/Renaissance are applying Australian gold mining standards to their operations, and are inclusive in their environmental impact statement. Even potential overflow from the tailings dam due to severe rains have been calculated and worst case scenarios engineered into the design.
