The Never-Ending Story

For a year or so prior to about May 2015 there was very little difference in the relative performance of TAS versus EDE. However, after May 2015 EDE started to run away from TAS. So to compare & chart relative performance of EDE versus TAS from thereon in I selected a starting date of May 1, 2015.  At that date the values of both stocks were normalised to 100 (bottom pane on accompanying chart).

If you look at the chart (bottom pane) you'll see that EDE moved away from TAS over the next three months and reached a maximum relative performance value of 340 on 20 July 2015. Relative performance values have remained in a range between 215 and 290 for most of the time since then. Using your retrospectoscope to aid you, ( a most handy tool for many punters out there) if you had bought TAS when the relative performance chart was at 340 on the 20th of July 2015 you would now be well ahead of EDE value-wise as at 11 February 2017. After July 20, 2015, It wouldn’t have mattered all that much whether you had bought EDE or TAS if you were a medium to long-term investor planning to hold. If you had wanted to trade TAS against EDE after July 20 2015 then sure, that might work to some extent, but you would have had to make big bets if you had a desire to accumulate a significant number of “freebies”. This approach seems to have satisfied Nursery, but in my opinion you would have been far better off using your time to find other high risk high return speculative stocks while continuing to hold either EDE or TAS.

Btw: TAS closed at 2.4 cents on July 20 2015; EDE closed at 4.3 cents on that day.
