I will try with sexual gratification vs mutual affection ie love.

I expect that some gays are more deviate than just gay ie it's just about sexual gratification, there are heterosexual that are also deviates but they just draw the line and don't get sexual satisfaction from a same sex person.

IMO that differs from mutual affection ie love there sexual satisfaction is secondary to the mutual affection ie love. That occurs with with heterosexual and genuine gay people and IMO that is what people are starting to accept and hence the move towards accepting SSM
