I have a car insurance so one unfortunate event wouldn't turn my financial position upside down eg the 100k+ car example are you saying it is not worth spending $300 pa to cover this scenario, I thought it's just common sense.
It could just be you are driving behind it on rainy day he braked suddenly then your old bomb that you so proud of has no ABS and your cat-like reflexes lets you down for a split second, BAM rear ended.
I'm not looking to hurt friends or family just plain common sense.
