I was a passenger with a safe driver once who rear ended someone through no fault of their driving.

The inexperienced P platter in front had committed to merging onto a highway travelling around 60ks, then had a nervie and suddenly hit the skids, bringing his vehicle to a complete stop. There was no way the driver I was travelling with, could stop in time, but was deemed at fault for rear ending!

Luckily he had comprehensive car insurance to pay for his and the other vehicle repairs which amounted to thousands. That's when you are grateful you have insurance.
