Yes, the process is different, but the customer ends up with the product one way or another. When Afterpay originally launched it was marketed as reverse laybuy.
Very few people care that much about points, the average consumer would generate more points simply switching to a different credit card that offers 100,000 points every 12 months then they would spending on their credit card within 12 months.
And for those who would generate more points on their CC within 12 months it's done by repaying the spent amount each month, maxing out one's card on a purchase with Splitit removes the ability to further use their card which removes the ability to further generate points until the payment plan is complete. It's counterintuitive.
One of the points that SPT holders still seem to fail to understand is that BNPL customers are very different to Splitit's customers, there is very little crossover between the two and when it does occur you can see the result on TrustPilot.
very few people care about using unused credit, you can berate them and call them stupid but at the end of the day they aren't interested.
