You left a step out: $1.50 to 5 cents at Splitit. Then 5 cents new equity to 50 cents sold by primary markets. You need a ruling from the ATO as to whether a sale and subsequent purchase has taken place. Whichever the case, you have a large liss and smaller gain and should be able offset them. You are unlikely to post a taxable 'profit'
