Mad Hare you have raised the very point I have been pondering and this is my take.
IF FAR hit oil in Samo a whole world of opportunities arise.

First I will preface this with I personally don't believe FAR will be able to do both concurrently...ie appraise Samo and do SNE development.

I'd love to think they could but I don't believe the team is big enough.

My theory is one will go and I don't think it will be all that long after the Samo discovery certainly before FID.
Now my preference is probably the odd one out, but I would like to see FAR sell SNE and use the funds to keep a bigger working interest in Samo and with those funds really crack on with Samo.
Having said that I will not be too depressed if FAR could sell Samo to Petronas....who ever......and free carry SNE development [ probably with a wad of cash as well if 330 mmbbls net ]....in fact I would still be very happy with this outcome.
FAR would be 2-3 years away from ~ 350 million pa Usd free cash flow and no CR's required ever again.
Have a look at the market cap of companies with a 350 million USD income with no debt......a hint its a third of WPL's income pa...... DB
