yes it is a grizzly way to go if you are involved in a fuel tanker crash and from memory there have been 2 over the last 5 years? i.e not all that many, involving 4 or 5 deaths. Compared to total deaths from accidents involving all trucks it doesn't seem to be that much different. The entire trucking fleet is to be avoided in my view not just fuel tankers, but if you are going to go then best you go quickly and a fuel tanker will certainly do that.

I think this whole issue just shines a big light on trucking company practices across the board, or at least lets hope..
