Can anyone here truly understand the workings of MBL/MQG?
Anything as opaque as MQG is at risk of a sell-off at the first sign of danger. But then if it keeps turning out solid earnings despite the chaos then the shares could pick up quite quickly.
MQG's a bit too smart for my liking but I wouldn't be surprised if they continue to make great profits for a while. Even Bondy and Skase managed that.
I also wouldn't be surprised if a bunch of traders with a god complex push the envelope too hard one day and cost MQG a couple of billion.
Who needs MQG anyway? What do they really contribute? Would the world really miss 'em? Judging by the pointed commentary regarding Qantas recently I suspect not.
