I'm not going to speculate on the SP at this stage, however what is swaying my decision is as follows:
1). Queensland is facing a real uphill battle now and I must say I giggled at the thought of Q-Rail (slack I know, especially as I am from QLD). DERM's decision was no real shock there, especially in their wording. My opinion is that if they were going to can the project, that decision would have been made long ago and the announcement would have been made yesterday. A deferral can only logically be seen as a positive announcement to come on the 28th, which is great in itself as it is a Friday and by god I will get hosed on that day.
2).The QLD Government just approved Santos'$70b Gladstone LNG plant. The State economy is going to require as much boosting as possible over the next five years, exasperated more so now by recent events.
3). The Chinese JV. I'm not as privileged as others with their know on this situation, however I feel that for the Chinese, why would you want to logistically look at coal importation as opposed to burning the shit underground?
4). Hold or sell? Tough one, but I am going to ride the wave on this. I was previously invested with Manhattan Resources, and although they are doing well, I feel the risk with Cougar is worth it. I might sell out after the end of the month, however my heart (not my brain) is saying to see how things pan out.... anyone heard of LNC?
Fingers crossed for all and good luck.
