I think a united Europe, including Russia, will soon equal the influence of the USA on the world scene. China will also become a major global player. This will result in three major world powers all about equal in influence while the status quo for the rest of the world remains relatively unchanged.
In general these three groups will be prosperous and powerful while the rest of the world fights over the crumbs, in an increasingly materialistic order of things.
Religions will lose their influence universally as generations born into a global society will not be hoodwinked into believing that any one faith is any better than any other faith and that following it makes them any different to anyone else. A single global religion might arise loosely based on the teachings of all the worlds current religions.
As this change takes place there will be many conflicts, including some serious wars over the next few years but no world wars as the three leading powers on the planet will not engage in or permit others to engage in global destruction.
War and mass destruction will generally only take place outside their boundaries.
This is my view for the next twenty years, after that I have no idea as over time everything changes.
