They have one seat in the house that matters for action, and so they cant introduce any legislation. So I can hardly see a gay marriage bill or a major change to asylum seeker policy or a harsher mining tax.

It will be really interesting to see how the Greens navigate the next two to three years or so. As noted on Q&A last night, do they remain a pure party or do they moderate their views in order to attain a broader appeal to capture permanently some of the one-off protest votes they got in this election. I can see the Greens moderating some of the legislation that comes out of the House no matter who forms government, and in the end that could be a good thing given the history of parties who have controlled both houses, but dont see them actively pushing a leftist agenda just because they cant.

And really, is everyone on the Right think every journalist at the ABC has a left biasis? Every word that came out of Janet Albrechtsen's mouth was partisan bile.In contract I though Tony Jones last night was fair in his moderation, great show last night. Tony Windsor came across as reasoned and sensible. Oakeshott on Lateline that followed also had some interesting ideas, in the end after having seen these two I think having a hung parliament might shake up our politics for the better.
