    and as I've written above, I'm aware of the reports of valid researchers including Mr Wood, for whom I have deep respect.

    but I've developed the urgency due to the proximity of the necessary closure of coal gen and the vital role coal has played in the grid, albeit patchy in recent years.

    its got to the point of the longer the typical argy bargy of the politicians goes the less can be done to replace that large slice of energy supply.

    I don't say I'm right. just want it discussed.

    worthwhile discussion too imo. for one thing you've been drawn to comment, which you rarely do.

    "Politicians should just get out of the way and let electrical engineers do their job. Energy security is too important to be meddled with by politicians and should be left to be handled by professionals." is an excellent summary.
