cheers sonic. green H2 has not been so successful here in Aus. even green steel is now green iron.
batteries come in many forms. so far they keep the focus on Li and that won't last long enough for energy storage in 10 years.
all this could have been prevented with Gillard's carbon price. business wanted it and generators complied with 10% fall in emissions in 2 years. it was moving into being budget +ve. and this would have enabled battery storage sufficient to cover much more of the grid.
too bad. we now haven't got the bucks or the time for batteries to be installed in every home and industry, though some businesses are getting on with it in a big way. some miners are moving to solar/wind and storage.
