I don't know why this a joke ... I actually saw this very thing in a pub in the Canadian town of Niagara, near Niagara Falls in 1994.

Every so often a siren would blare so we asked the barman what was going on.

He told us there was statue of David in the ladies' toilet and a fig leaf with a hinge covering the vital part.

Every time someone lifted the fig leaf the siren blared.

The barman told us that some nights the management had to turn off the siren because if the constant noise.

One of the women in our group took us in for a look while another one kept guard.
