y'never know yer luck in the Big City pinto.... democracy has caused some really serious problems around the planet and there are models that work much better such as Moggs mentioned.
I don't see much French news... but so often its yellow vest riots or some other mass protest. is French rife with political debate? are the French delighted with their form of democracy?
I'm not active as I was so even locally I'm not up to speed, but the 3 independents that were eventually on the election ticket were non-events, barely raising a few hundred votes between them. but this is a rural seat hehehe.
but regional and city centres are more open to change, and the rise of independents will trigger a wider perspective on whats possible in Aus.
sortition might come after maybe 30 years of independent government is my guess. so maybe our kids will be the reformers.
