    Nigeria is rated lower in political risk that the other neighbouring iron ore provinces - Guinea, Congo (EQX), Cameroon (SDL) and Burkina Faso - as stated in the Euromoney Country Risk Survey 2010.

    Companies like Chevron, Petronas, Texaco, Shell, Eni, and ExxonMobil have all operated large scale operations out of Nigeria for years to the extent that the country is now one of Africa's largest oil producers and fifth largest supplier of oil to the USA.

    Mining growth is being driven by recent Govt reforms re its policy, institutions and legal framework and a recently updated Federal Mining Act driving exploration and development of solid minerals.

    Terrorist risk? Show me a country anywhere in the world (let alone Africa) that can guarantee exclusion to that threat.

    It's worth noting that the Independant Expert mentioned that he "was always at ease during the field trip" in doing his valuation (page 17).
