Interesting observation.
When you look at the Medieval Warm Period there was a warm period in the northern Atlantic region for several hundred years. It was not globally uniform and there was peak warm periods for different regions at different times. This period was followed by a cooler period in the northern Atlantic and other places termed The Little Ice Age. Literature suggests that this warm period was due to a number of things including increased solar activity, ocean circulation changes, etc.
