''Are the Olympics loosing their appeal?''

losing their appeal to ????????? the public? to cities to host? nations to back?

I think that the audience appeal is probably dynamic, moving from country to country, culture to culture and moving via different media mechanisms - I'll ask my friend who has been involved in the TV side of it. They would certainly have opinion and it could be of value.

the appeal to hosting cities - well, I think that the competition isn't as hot as it used to be - that's my guess without researching much about it

I'd say that selling it is harder ----- selling Commonwealth games to a city is like trying to sell live VD bugs in plastic bags on a street corner these days.

if they all weren't such economic disasters - it would be easy.

But, if you take Paris - if (it's impossible, but if) - one tried to sell the next Olympic games to Paris atm ----------- there's be another revolution atm

they are for business - absolutely on the nose

you hear it several times ---------- what's the advantage to you with the Olympic gams in Paris?

pffffffffffffffffft - I get to pay less tax this year

uh huh - because business has just -------- evaporated

    situation normal
