Anvil Mining $US1.5m net loss in first half

Sydney - Thursday - August 4: (RWE Australian Business News) -
Anvil Mining Ltd (ASX code: AVM) incurred a net loss of $US1.5 million
in the six months to June 30, compared with a net profit of $US3.1
million for the first half of last year.
Operating profit before amortisation was $5 million, down from
$7 million, on copper-silver concentrate sales of $18.2 million, up from
$15.5 million.
For the June quarter, net earnings were $0.2 million, down from
$1.5 million.
Operating profit was $3.8 million, up from $3.3 million, on
sales of $10.5 million, up from $8.2 million.
The quarter saw copper production of 3395 tonnes (7.5 million
pounds) and silver production of 301,967 ounces with an ex-mine gate
operating cash cost, after silver credit, of US37c per pound.
For the six months, copper production totalled 5954 tonnes (13.1
million pounds) and silver production was 547,011 ounces with an ex-mine
gate operating cash cost, after silver credit, of US49c per pound.
Anvil CHESS Depositary Interests rose 4c to 49c yesterday.
