funtimes. Just rang FAR to ask about the permit extension.
Summary of the details i got is: Hope it's helpful as company can only sit and wait for reply.

1. Request has been submitted to Govt with support of Petrosen as per release in Sept.

2. Applied for 12 months extension, as previously done.

3. The govt is under no obligation to reply before the exipry date of 21st November.

4. They could reply before or after date, it's completely in their hands, also mentioned they won't be pushing for reply, will have to wait and see, but reasonably confident, as have had a good relationship up to now.
