here's another interesting quote from CGT's 2010 AGM presentation:

"In 2009, Ballarat [actually Lihir during its final few months of ownership] mined 105 kt at 4.3 g/t to produce 13,414 oz, including September at 9.6 g/t, October at 8.3 g/t, November at 7.9 g/t. A stope failure occurred in December resulting in only 50t being mined at a grade of 5.0 g/t."
