    There is the 5-2 diet where one eats very little on two days a week and, contrary to some who think otherwise, eat sensibly for the other five days. Personally, not prepared to eat zero and drink water for 36 hours (that is equivalent to one fasting day). I have sometimes eaten maybe an apple for lunch and then a vegetable and soup meal for the evening. Works OK for me on an intermittent basis.
