Your 1 - that's a certainty and has been discussed fully in numerous articles, many of which have been c/p on HC.

Your 2 - Geitner has already stated that the USA will do "whatever it takes" to maintain the US$ as the world's reserve currency. That's been copied/posted on HC under a very similar title some days ago.

So - interesting times ahead and all very, very good for physical gold providing that the actual holders hold on during the gold price war that's in the process of being played out.

It will be a rocky road.
