A hole like no other has been drilled at Charters Towers. An extremely deep one. Why weren't more punters as riveted as I was by its daily progress as covered on the Citigold website? The lack of comment has been noticeable. I sense that they've been distracted by issues like funding and Gold Qtrly production of 4,000 ozs.
Hey, wake up! The real action's been at the hole. You know that big yellow splodge at the bottom of the drill hole in the diagram? That's the motherlode.
The technical details might be a bit beyond you, but essentially what they'll be doing now is to suck the gold up, as if through a 2,000 metre pineapple flavoured milk straw. The gold's in that big yellow cavern you can see in the diagram. So exciting times ahead!
