Pain is actually reduced but they say they need to do more trials. There is little to no evidence for cartilage repair however.
It compares well with HA and steroids.
Sounds like about 60% of patients get pain reduction, not bad.
Side effects aren't too many, you use your own blood so much less chance of infection for instance.
Some bleeding can occur, some patients will get lasting pain relief, others need more shots.
Its prob not a bad one to try out if you have to choose.
I have also heard some rumours of iPPS along with PRP being tried in very limited numbers but not sure of how that went and if that's even better than iPPS on it's own.
