As i understand it. It is Mike Pence (current VP) who will count the electoral college votes, and has reserve powers to discard for illegitimate ECs. example those who have not followed the laws of the states as legislated by the states, legitimately. And that perhaps excludes then say all the illegitimate instructions from those state governors etc, who bypassed the legislative body, to alter their electoral process. Or where the electoral process was not followed. (eg. kicking out GOP pole watchers) Then as neither Biden or Trump have 270 points, The 12th amendment of the constitution, both the house (for President) and the senate (for VP), each will have to select a President and VP. The republicans hold both.
Pence can throw these votes out early, or can wait and allow senators to object to a slate of electoral college points.
This starts on the 6th January, and takes as long as it requires to resolve. If it goes beyond the 20th January, the VP if appointed by the senate but not the President by the house, can assume temporary acting president. If neither are sorted out by the 20th, the speaker of the house becomes acting president, and the speaker is selected on 3 January.
The House vote for President. (held by a clear majority of Rep 28- Dem 21) The Senate for VP. (if there are a few swing Rep who vote with Dem, could get Harris in as VP) But would think a few center Dems would vote for Pence, and flip to Rep.
A stronger stock market, with a strong Trump/ Pence America. A weaker America, with a Harris socialist America. At the end of it, as long as the republicans either have one of Pence or Trump at the top, and/ or the control of the senate following the Georgia run off election, (even with a Biden / harris as president) the radical left will be restrained. (it is 51 R/49 D at present in the senate, and the two Georgia senate seats could flip the balance)
Will the Pence card get played ? We will know when Arizona gets counted. (alphabetically) It depends if the long game is preserve MAGA now, or allow the Dems to implode under internal conflict, and pick up the pieces in 2024.
