long time reader, first time poster...

I too am a long suffering CTO holder and actually only joined HC to see the CTO posts (many months ago). Although I find Find8's posts soothing (thanks!), I have a gut-feel that all is not well at our company (management in particular).

After the recent 'citigold' and 'skaterboy' discussion I e-mailed Chris Towsey asking him what the deal was. Here is his e-mail response (dated 14/08/09 with some text removed):

Apologies for the delay in replying - been travelling and very busy.

The Hot Copper identity 'Skaterboy" was set up some years ago by a person who is now an ex-employee, and has been used by several people, all ex-employees. However it was linked to my email, so when I went to set up a Hot Copper identity on my email for Citigold so we could respond officially to queries, the set-up was blocked as only one ID is permitted per email address.
I then asked Hot Copper to set up the ID of "Citigold" and link it to my email, assuming they would cancel 'Skaterboy'.
They didn't - they simply re-named 'Skaterboy' as 'Citigold', so some 90 previous 'Skaterboy' posts now appear as 'Citigold' - not what we wanted!

As a company employee, I am required to identify myself as such on sites such as Hot Copper....

I replied to Chris with a list of other questions (productions targets, takeover bid, etc) and basically let him know of the concern from holders (and ex-holders) on HC regarding management and the flow of info. I also mentioned that in my opinion bad news (i.e. the truth) is sometimes better than no news (i.e.deafening silence). He has since given a lengthy reply, and I will post some interesting excerpts hopefully later when I get the time (after work perhaps!). For the record, IMO (for what it's worth) Chris T seems to be a competent/well meaning person. I'm not sure I hold the same opinion of Lynch and Foley and think a lot of the criticism on HC is justified.
