My wife didn't laugh but took it serious. Her comment was that, when we were married we had so little that it would have been a much more appreciated present than many of the items we recieved as gifts. Picked out the sweeper in particular.
But then we were born in the depression years. Plastics were a novelty and a lot oh house work was done on the knees.
Remember that one man's meat is another man's poison. Good to be able to look back and laugh.
