We have already discussed this at length here. Why open a new thread about it again? You only need to look at the past.
However, a few remarks. The Sami are one of the interest groups fighting for justice. This is not a walk to Canossa. It is clear from the article that they are trying to be heard. What is important here are the sentences:
"This does not however mean a veto right. Sweden has not yet ratified ILO 169. Several of the Parliamentary parties have previously declared their positive attitude towards the convention, but that the consequences have not yet been sufficiently researched. An 1999, SOU***published a report on ILO 169 and the measures demanded to enable ratifying the convention."

It may well be that some of the old government spoke out in favour of it. But they didn't get it through and do you think it will be easier with the new government? The new president has said that he loves mines and wants more of them.
The Sami are against everything. Of course they would like to have the power of a state within a state, but: Sweden has not yet ratified ILO 169. For 40 years

You can also see from these two sentences how absurd their ideas are, and they are the explanation for why the Sami do not decide:
"...further mineral exploitation and prospecting shall not take place in Sápmi." ... "They consider that to reach a yes vote to exploitation, everyone must be in agreement" If you take the Sami's statement seriously, it means that only they are right. A contradiction in terms. But fortunately there is a process and it should even be optimised (see Svemin; please no new thread):

    1.) "Transfer of exploration permits
On 24 January 2022, the Swedish Mining Authority granted Viad Royalties AB permission to transfer the exploration permit Svärdsjö No 201 to the company Bergslagen Metals AB.
    25 January 2022"

2.) "Exploration permit Fäboliden No. 84 in Lycksele municipality
On 21 January 2022 Bergsstaten decided to grant Dragon Mining (Sweden) AB an exploration permit for Fäboliden No. 84 in Lycksele municipality, Västerbotten county.
    24 January 2022"

3.) "Exploration permit Askesjö No. 101 in Bengtsfors and Dals-Ed municipalities
On 21 January 2022 Bergsstaten decided to grant Viad Royalties AB an exploration permit for Askesjö No. 101 in Bengtsfors and Dals-Ed municipalities, Västra Götaland province.24 January 2022"

They are to the south. But I don't expect the Sami to be able to prevent wind turbines, power lines, roads, factories or mines from being built on their territory. It seems to be already decided with the old government in our direction. The new one even wants it. The regional politician has been replaced. It will be difficult for the Sami NIMBYs. But that's not a bad thing, because we all know that by granting the permits, the environment will be protected to a much greater extent than the Sami want. They don't know any better. But there are consultations for that.

Please don't go looking for the article where a 15 year old brainwashed Sami girl predicts doom and death by flood when Kallak opens.

It's a shitty process, we all know that. We also know that Sweden is at the bottom of the league when it comes to environmental permits. Here too is a contradiction: Did you know that in a study on sustainability Sweden is ranked in the bottom twentieth place out of more than 160, and not in the top place (I read that in the Swedish press. I'll see if I can find the article again. The Greens were very concerned that they were doing so badly with their policies.)? Bottom not top in sustainability. It is clear that the new government has a lot to do. And for that they need projects to show how much success they have. Don't forget it's an election campaign year.

With us it will probably last until at least May. But I am confident.
