bin laden and 9/11 have motivated the west and ongoing violence is leading to europe, USA, Australia and other countries to gear up their technological, intelligence , data gathering and military and civilian police advantage to take on the islamic threat + the ability of re-education through popular media it might take 50 years but eventually the open democracies of the west will prevail just like they did against hitler, USSR and of course now china as even it has moved towards a capitalaist / communistis hybrid.
And even fringe islamic countries are moderizing and becoming much more tolerant and moderate ie indonesia, mayalaisa, moroccoo etc. Even turkey.
