What you say is pragmatic common sense and Mid to late January would be IMO premium timing for the release..

"Wall Street managed to close in positive territory despite discussions in Washington stalling. Markets were helped by the final reading of Q3 GDP for this year, which was better than forecast. A revised reading of 3.1% exceeded the previous estimate of 2.7%, while sales of previously owned homes posted a better-than-expected rise in November. This is the highest level in three years as lower borrowing costs encourage renters to buy. Meanwhile the Philly Fed’s manufacturing index unexpectedly gained 8.1% this month, rebounding from last month’s -10.7 contraction and well above the -2.2 projection."
