Good post Dangar, except operating profit is not derived just from cash costs. There are numerous other costs which reduce operating profit.

Gold companies are doing themselves a great disservice imo and inviting higher taxes by marketing themselves using cash costs and cash profits per ounce which show a much higher margin per ounce gold mined than profits obtained from total costs and real profits after all expenses.
