    "Prof Plimer said he was in Copenhagen to try to stop the world engaging in the “global collective madness” of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by clamping down on economic development."

    The article forgot to say that Plimer was there to promote the views of certain elements in the mining lobby. Plimer, Carter et al are geologists not meteorologists or climatologists. Of course they are going to put effort into protecting their livelihood and those of others associated with the mining sector and the right-wing "think tank" Institute of Public Affairs (only eligible to people who think a certain way).

    They have no credentials in the study of climate at all. They have less credibility than the bloke or sheila in the street because they have a vested interest in the issue.
