Re: the time it takes in the Med room:
I was a medic in the Army, and was attached to a battalion of RAR (Infantry). One of the Company's was doing an OS deployment, and required all jabs for tropical service.
It took me and another guy a couple of hours to draw up all of the vaccines from vials, under strict aseptic technique, into 1ml syringes, then placed into trays for refrigeration until jab time.
If the vaccines were in pre-fills, the drawing up time would've been eliminated, and the syringes would have been just taken from the fridge and stuck into the arms of the Diggers.
By the way, even the toughest Infantry Sergeants go weak at the knees when they see the sight of a needle!!
