A white knight has emerged for troubled financial engineering group Allco in the form of
cashed-up co-founder John Kinghorn, who has so far spent $57 million in buying a 6.8 per cent stake in the company.
His emergence as a substantial shareholder with 25 million Allco Finance Group shares sent the stock
surging 54c yesterday to close at $3.40, compared with the record low earlier this week of $2.21.
A FORMER co-founder of Allco Finance Group Ltd, John Kinghorn, has lifted his holding in the
embattled finance house to almost 10 per cent.

Allco shares jumped 22 cents, or 56.41 per cent, to 61 cents by 2.47pm AEDT after rising as high as 71 cents.
Mr Kinghorn, who was also the chairman of the former RAMS Home Loans Group Ltd, yesterday lifted
his stake in Allco to 9.75 per cent from 6.80 per cent.
Mr Kinghorn took the 6.80 per cent stake in January and has been the subject of market speculation that
he could team with up with the other founder of Allco, David Coe, to take the group private.
It was, however, reported yesterday Mr Coe had dismissed suggestions he wanted to take Allco private,
and that he had not had any discussions with Mr Kinghorn.
