    Hi lapdog.

I saw a Doco of the building the A380.

They built aircraft sections all over Europe to be assemble in one place.

They were restricted by tunnel size, bridge heights and rail gauge.

A section coming by barge had to wait for low tide to get under a bridge.

Escorting through villages with only CMs to spare from houses on either side.

    A real planning exercise.

I believe when Sydney was first built they built townhouses stuck to each other like in the Old country.

Take the different rail gauges between the States, Why?

Then finally in Australia they thought big,Under the directions of Queenslander Dr J.J.C. Bradfield of the NSW Department of Public Works, the bridge was designed and built by British firm Dorman Long and Co Ltd of Middlesbrough and opened in 1932.[3][4] The bridge's design was influenced by the Hell Gate Bridge in New York.[5] It is also the sixth longest spanning-arch bridge in the world, and it is the tallest steel arch bridge,
