The poor white trash of Asia

    1. Can't deal with bushfires. Excuses being made why we can't reduce the hazard by clearing and cool burning. Excuses being made why we don't have rapidly deployable assets to get on top of fires.

    2. Don't have adequate crude reserves to last more than three weeks. Best we can come up with so far is an unapproved plan to 'borrow' some from another country thousands of miles across the Pacific Ocean. And we don't have any of our own ships to transport the crude anyway.

    3. ADF unable to defend Australia in the event of a determined attack by an adversary. Too few front line soldiers, too many pen pushers and bureaucrats. Our latest and greatest purchases are flying brick F35s and 12 unproven subs we might start to see in 2035. Who knows when we'll get the last one, or who will crew them.

    4. One sealed road between Western Australia and South Australia, which has just been closed for 12 days due to fires. (there's only one sealed road between Western Australia and the Northern Territory as well - shhhh don't tell our enemies). Two sealed roads to connect 1/3 of our continent with the remainder of the country. If that isn't pathetic and downright negligence I don't know what is.

    5. Less than half the people working in Australia are nett contributors to the Commonwealth. Everyone else is taking out more than they're putting in.

    6. Sense of entitlement rife throughout the country.

    7. Whole country is permanently outraged over every godddam thing someone says. Everyone is a sook blaming someone else when they stuff up.

    8. Media stopped investigating and accurately reporting the news years ago. It's all shallow, biased puff pieces now.

    9. Manufacturing almost wiped out and likely never coming back. A country that can't make things is in huge trouble if things get really bad and world trade is disrupted. Government never supported 'strategic' manufacturing for a few key things like automobiles for an example. Those skills and tools and machines are gone forever.

    10. Way too many people have been allowed into our country without sufficient time to integrate. Should Australia be threatened or placed under duress by an adversary, how many of those people would be loyal to Australia and be prepared to defend it?

    11. Despite the rhetoric neither Labor nor LNP have been able to reduce government debt. We are living beyond our means.

    12. Private debt is higher than almost any other country and most of the debt is tied up in our overpriced ponzi scheme real estate market. Our economy is extremely vulnerable to any large correction in that sector.

    13. Academic freedom of expression by faculty staff being restricted by universities without any oversight.

    14. Free speech by the citizens of this country also being restricted by more and more laws.

    15. Environmental degradation and large areas of Eastern Australia doesn't have reliable or secure water supplies.

    16. Education standards slipping compared to other countries.

    17. Systematic abuse of our elderly by their own kids in many cases, plus homes and care facilities.

    18. Failure of aboriginal people and the rest to truly reconcile the past and move on to the future.

    19. Epic mismanagement of the judicial process by Victorian police on an unprecedented scale putting many convictions in that state in jeopardy.

    20. Abject failure by successive governments to deal with climate change, energy generation and water supply security.

I could go on but what's the point?

Australia will end up the poor white trash of Asia if we continue doing what we've been doing for the past few decades.
