I'm not sure how much detail I can go onto in an online forum but I had a really interesting experience today.
I sit on a charity board which provides research grants for mainly in the aged care field.
We had an application in front of us today for a study into, in laymans terms" using a scalpel to clean up the edges of a diabetic ulcer vs a new fangled machine thats pulses the wound with "rays". The details of the alternate treatment arent really important.
I was just struck by the input of all the medicos around the table. They all urged the us to look favourably on the grant application (not out of self interest, everyone was at arms length from the study)because,
"these bloody ulcers are a nightmare to treat,"
"we could get a 160 patients enrolled no problems,"
"the current treatments are pretty hopeless"
"anything is worth a try"
Made me every so proud and optimistic about TIS. how much good can our product do? and just how big is the opportunity.
